Journal ArticleDOI
Respiratory morbidity in late preterm births
Judith U. Hibbard,Isabelle Wilkins,Liping Sun,Kimberly D. Gregory,Shoshana Haberman,Matthew K. Hoffman,Michelle A. Kominiarek,Uma M. Reddy,Jennifer L. Bailit,D. Ware Branch,Ronald T. Burkman,Victor Hugo Gonzalez Quintero,Christos Hatjis,Helain J. Landy,Mildred Ramirez,Paul Vanveldhuisen,James Troendle,Jun Zhang +17 more
TL;DR: In a contemporary cohort of deliveries in the United States, late preterm birth, compared with term delivery, was associated with increased risk of respiratory distress syndrome and other respiratory morbidity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urinary concentrations of benzophenone-type UV filters in U.S. women and their association with endometriosis.
Tatsuya Kunisue,Zhen Chen,Germaine M. Buck Louis,Rajeshwari Sundaram,Mary L. Hediger,Liping Sun,Kurunthachalam Kannan,Kurunthachalam Kannan +7 more
TL;DR: The association of urinary concentrations of BP derivatives with an increase in the odds of a diagnosis of endometriosis was examined in 600 women who underwent laparoscopy or pelvic magnetic resonance imaging during 2007-2009.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prepregnancy risk factors for antepartum stillbirth in the United States.
TL;DR: The value of individual risk factors of race, parity, advanced maternal age (35–39 years old), and BMI to predict term stillbirth is poor and does not support routine antenatal surveillance for any of these risk factors when present in isolation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics associated with severe perineal and cervical lacerations during vaginal delivery
Helain J. Landy,S. Katherine Laughon,Jennifer L. Bailit,Michelle A. Kominiarek,Victor Hugo Gonzalez-Quintero,Mildred Ramirez,Shoshana Haberman,Judith U. Hibbard,Isabelle Wilkins,D. Ware Branch,Ronald T. Burkman,Kimberly D. Gregory,Matthew K. Hoffman,Lee A. Learman,Christos Hatjis,Paul Vanveldhuisen,Uma M. Reddy,James Troendle,Liping Sun,Jun Zhang +19 more
TL;DR: A large cohort of women with severe obstetric lacerations reflects contemporary obstetric practices, and nulliparity and episiotomy use are important risk factors for third- or fourth-degree laceration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maternal and neonatal outcomes by labor onset type and gestational age
Jennifer L. Bailit,Kimberly D. Gregory,Uma M. Reddy,Victor Hugo Gonzalez-Quintero,Judith U. Hibbard,Mildred Ramirez,D. Ware Branch,Ronald T. Burkman,Shoshana Haberman,Christos Hatjis,Matthew K. Hoffman,Michelle A. Kominiarek,Helain J. Landy,Lee A. Learman,James Troendle,Paul Van Veldhuisen,Isabelle Wilkins,Liping Sun,Jun Zhang +18 more
TL;DR: Elective induction may be associated with an increased hysterectomy risk but some neonatal outcomes improved until 39 weeks, and babies born with elective induction are associated with better Neonatal outcomes compared to spontaneous labor.
