An Empirical Comparative Study on Two Large-Scale Hierarchical Text Classification Approaches
TL;DR: This paper compares two popular learning frameworks, namely, hierarchical support vector machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) and shows that the latter outperforms the former for the LSHTC task, which is quite different from the existing results for normal text categorization tasks.
Posted ContentDOI
UPS-indel: a Universal Positioning System for Indels
TL;DR: This paper describes UPS-indel, a utility tool that creates a universal positioning system for indels so that equivalent indels can be uniquely determined by their coordinates in the new system, which also can be used to compare indel calling results produced by different tools.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Pilot Study of Chicago Waterways as Reservoirs of Multidrug-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (MDR-Ent) in a High-Risk Region for Community-Acquired MDR-Ent Infection in Children.
Latania K. Logan,Liqing Zhang,Stefan J. Green,Samuel Dorevitch,Gustavo Arango-Argoty,Kendrick Reme,Emily Garner,Jared Aldstadt,Yvette J. Johnson-Walker,Mary K. Hayden,Robert A. Weinstein,Amy Pruden +11 more
TL;DR: Enterobacteriaceae and ARG profiles support the hypothesized concerns that recreational waterways are a potential source of community-acquired MDR-Ent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphism array and whole-genome sequencing reveal the inbreeding progression of Banna minipig inbred line.
J. L. Huo,J. L. Huo,Liqing Zhang,X. Zhang,Xiaowei Wu,X. H. Ye,Yu H. Sun,W. M. Cheng,K. Yang,W. R. Pan,Y. Z. Zeng +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a genome-wide SNP genotyping of the last 10 generations of the Banna minipig inbred (BMI) line was conducted, with an average decrease in heterozygosity rate of 0.0078 per generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic Expression Profile Analysis of the Temporal Inhibition of Quercetin and Naringenin on Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG
LinShu Liu,Jenni Firrman,Gustavo Arango Argoty,Peggy M. Tomasula,Masuko Kobori,Liqing Zhang,Weidong Xiao +6 more
TL;DR: Results from this study demonstrate that there is a clear interaction between the polyphenols quercetin and naringenin and the probiotic LGG, and an identifiable pattern of gene expression is revealed.
