Journal ArticleDOI

Individual, Family, and Societal Dimensions of Genetic Discrimination: A Case Study Analysis

TL;DR: The increasing development and utilization of genetic tests will likely result in increased genetic discrimination in the absence of contravening measures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chromosome missegregation and trisomy 21 mosaicism in Alzheimer's disease.

TL;DR: Results indicate that the presenilin proteins may be involved in mitosis and that FAD mutations in the presENilin genes may predispose to chromosome missegregation (nondisjunction), and suggest that trisomy 21 mosaicism may contribute to other forms of AD that are not caused by a presenILin mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic discrimination and screening for hemochromatosis.

TL;DR: It is suggested that genetic discrimination is already a serious problem and that any proposed screening program for hemochromatosis or other genetic condition must consider and attempt to mitigate its effects.
