TL;DR: A field trial succeeded in eliminating populations of the mosquito Aedes albopictus through inundative mass release of incompatible Wolbachia-infected males, which were also irradiated to sterilize any accidentally-released females, and so prevent population replacement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wolbachia Inter-Strain Competition and Inhibition of Expression of Cytoplasmic Incompatibility in Mosquito.
TL;DR: The transfer of the Wolbachia wMel strain by embryonic microinjection into Aedes albopictus resulted in the successful establishment of a transinfected line, HM (wAlbAwAlbBwMel), with a triple-strain infection comprising wMel, wAlbA, and w albB, which showed perfect maternal transmission of the triple infection.

Preparation method of aedes albopictus stably carrying culex quinquefasciatus wolbachia and application of aedes albopictus stably carrying culex quinquefasciatus wolbachia to prevention and control of aedes albopictus
TL;DR: In this paper, a preparation method of aedes albopictus stably carrying culex quinquefasciatus wolbachia and its application to prevention and control of the aedes is described.

Adult mosquito raising device
TL;DR: In this paper, an adult mosquito raising device consisting of a mosquito cage and a feeding groove connected into the mosquito cage is presented. But the authors do not specify the number of raised mosquitos.
