Journal Article
Comparative biological and biochemical effects of nogalamycin and its analogs on L1210 leukemia.
TL;DR: Results paralleled those of cell growth inhibition as well as drug-DNA interaction as measured by circular dichroism and thermal melting of DNA, suggesting that the inhibition of RNA synthesis by these compounds was the result of a major biochemical lesion, probably mediated through the interaction with DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI
An x-ray study of aerothionin from aplysina fistularis (pallas)
Joyce A. McMillan,Iain C. Paul,Yang M. Goo,Kenneth L. Rinehart,William C. Krueger,Loraine M. Pschigoda +5 more
TL;DR: The structure of aerothionin, a tyrosine-derived brominated compound from the sponge Aplysina fistularis (Pallas), is confirmed by X-ray data, which with CD data assign its absolute configuration as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure of rubradirin
Journal ArticleDOI
The chemistry of rubradirin. II. Rubranitrose.
TL;DR: It is reported that acid hydrolysis of rubradirin afforded this fragment which was found to be a nitrosugar which is shown to have structure la, which is stereoisomeric with evernitrose, found in the unrelated antibiotics, everninomicins B and C.
