TL;DR: The authors examined the structure and construct validity of a measure of ethnic identity among young adolescents from diverse ethnic groups and found that ethnic identity was related positively to measures of psychological well-being such as coping ability, mastery, self-esteem and optimism.

Behavior of Boys in Kindergarten and the Onset of Substance Use During Adolescence

TL;DR: High novelty-seeking and low harm avoidance lead to early onset of substance use in boys, and the stability of the prediction between ages 6 and 10 years suggests that the kindergarten assessments may be used for preventive efforts at school entry instead of waiting until early adolescence.
