Oncogenic Myc Induces Expression of Glutamine Synthetase through Promoter Demethylation
Alex J. Bott,I-Chen Peng,I-Chen Peng,Yongjun Fan,Brandon Faubert,Lu Zhao,Jinyu Li,Sarah Neidler,Yu Sun,Nadia Jaber,Dawid Krokowski,Wenyun Lu,Ji-An Pan,Scott Powers,Joshua D. Rabinowitz,Maria Hatzoglou,Daniel J. Murphy,Russell G. Jones,Song Wu,Geoffrey D. Girnun,Wei-Xing Zong +20 more
TL;DR: In a number of human and murine cells and cancers, Myc induces elevated expression of glutamate-ammonia ligase (GLUL), also termed glutamine synthetase (GS), which catalyzes the de novo synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bartender: a fast and accurate clustering algorithm to count barcode reads
TL;DR: Bartender is a set of simple‐to‐use command line tools that can be performed on a laptop at comparable run times to existing methods that cluster based on sequence similarity alone, and uses a modified two‐sample proportion test that also considers cluster size.
Journal ArticleDOI
BLVRB redox mutation defines heme degradation in a metabolic pathway of enhanced thrombopoiesis in humans
Song Wu,Zongdong Li,Dmitri V. Gnatenko,Beibei Zhang,Lu Zhao,Lisa E. Malone,Nedialka G. Markova,Timothy J. Mantle,Natasha M. Nesbitt,Wadie F. Bahou +9 more
TL;DR: The data define the first physiologically relevant function of BLVRB and implicate its activity and/or heme-regulated BV tetrapyrrole(s) in a unique redox-regulated bioenergetic pathway governing terminal megakaryocytopoiesis; these observations also define a mechanistically restricted drug target retaining potential for enhancing human platelet counts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integrated micro/messenger RNA regulatory networks in essential thrombocytosis.
TL;DR: It is observed that the selected mRNAs are highly relevant to ET disease, and provide an initial framework for dissecting both platelet-enhancing and functional consequences of dysregulated platelet production.
Book ChapterDOI
Approximation Algorithms for Time-Window TSP and Prize Collecting TSP Problems.
TL;DR: New approximation algorithms for robot routing problems that are variants of the classical traveling salesperson problem (TSP) are given, giving paths whose lengths are within a bounded factor of the optimal length.
