Synthesis, biological activity and modelling studies of two novel anti HIV PR inhibitors with a thiophene containing hydroxyethylamino core
Carlo Bonini,Lucia Chiummiento,Margherita De Bonis,Maria Funicello,Paolo Lupattelli,Gerardina Suanno,Federico Berti,Pietro Campaner +7 more
TL;DR: Highly chemoselective reduction of the azido alcohol led to a key compound which was utilized for the synthesis of two analogues of commercial anti HIV PR such as nelfinavir and saquinavir.
Journal ArticleDOI
A general protocol for the regio high yielding opening of different glycidol derivatives
Carlo Bonini,Lucia Chiummiento,Maria Teresa Lopardo,Maddalena Pullez,Françoise Colobert,Guy Solladie +5 more
TL;DR: Differently protected glycidol derivatives (with Bn, TBDPS, TBS and MPM groups) were tested for regioselective ring opening with vinylmagnesium bromide in order to obtain useful five-carbon functionalised homoallylic alcohols as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Chemical/Computational Approach to the Determination of Absolute Configuration of Flexible and Transparent Molecules: Aliphatic Diols As a Case Study
TL;DR: Since the fluorene chromophore leads to the presence of several Cotton effects from, say, 350 to 200 nm, their correct simulation of sign, intensity, and position is a guarantee of the correct assignment of AC: in this way, ECD spectroscopy gains the same advantages of VCDSpectroscopy, that is, the need of reproducing many ECD bands and then a solid guarantee of a correct AC assignment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Convergent highly stereoselective preparation of the C12-C24 fragment of macrolactin A.
TL;DR: The convergent synthesis of the C12-C24 fragment (lower part) of macrolactin A is described, and reductive elimination of the appropriate allylic dibenzoate with Na/Hg introduced directly the C16-C19 (E,E)-diene unit, in a highly efficient stereoselective fashion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidant, Antidiabetic, and Anticholinesterase Activities and Phytochemical Profile of Azorella glabra Wedd.
Immacolata Faraone,Dilip K. Rai,Daniela Russo,Lucia Chiummiento,Eloy Fernández,Alka Choudhary,Luigi Milella +6 more
TL;DR: This is the first report about the evaluation of significant biological activities and phytochemical profile of A. glabra, an important source of health-promoting phytochemicals in Andean region of South America to treat various chronic diseases.
