Evaluation of Antioxidant, Antidiabetic and Anticholinesterase Activities of Smallanthus sonchifolius Landraces and Correlation with Their Phytochemical Profiles

TL;DR: Investigating the phytochemical profile of leaf methanol extracts of fourteen Smallanthus sonchifolius (yacon) landraces revealed that the bioactive compound content differences could be determinant for the medicinal properties of this plant especially for antioxidant and antidiabetic activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vivo topical anti-inflammatory and in vitro antioxidant activities of two extracts of Thymus satureioides leaves.

TL;DR: Four extracts at increasing polarity were prepared from the leaves of Thymus satureioides Coss and assayed for the in vivo topical anti-inflammatory effect using the croton oil ear test in mice and for in vitro both antioxidant and anti-bacterial activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Astaxanthin anticancer effects are mediated through multiple molecular mechanisms: A systematic review.

TL;DR: While astaxanthin has been clearly demonstrated its multitarget activity in the prevention and regression of malignant cells in in vitro or in preclinical investigations, further clinical studies are needed to assess its real potential as anticancer in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

α-Glucosidase and α-Amylase Inhibitors from Arcytophyllum thymifolium

TL;DR: Three new coumarins, a prenylated flavanone, and two iridoids, together with 17 known secondary metabolites, were isolated from the aerial parts of Arcytophyllum thymifolium and the structures of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of their spectroscopic data.
