A method for wireless energy transfer includes forming a plurality of energy beams. Each energy beam includes one or more electromagnetic (EM) waves having a same fundamental frequency as another EM wave of another one of the energy beams. A device response of an energizable device to the plurality of energy beams incident thereon is tracked. The one or more EM waves for each of the plurality of energy beams is directed to power the energizable device. A respective phase of the one or more EM waves for at least one of the energy beams is aligned to another phase of another EM wave of another one of the energy beams. A received power level received by the energizable device is maximized according to the device response by optimizing for at least one of the energy beams, the directing, and the aligning of the phase, of the one or more EM waves.

Wireless energy transfer using alignment of electromagnetic waves

A Colpitts-type oscillator circuit suitable for use with electronic identification systems is disclosed. The oscillator circuit utilizes a pair of transistors coupled together with a feedback loop that includes a parallel LC circuit such that the output amplitude can be as high as a factor of 20 times the supply voltage or more while maintaining a high Q, low distortion output. The oscillator circuit is a modified Colpitts oscillator that includes a NPN transistor and a PNP transistor coupled together and a Colpitts type feedback loop containing a parallel LC circuit. The capacitance of the parallel LC circuit consists of at least two capacitors in series forming a capacitive divider which provides a low impedance feedback via the base of the NPN transistor into the emitter of the PNP transistor. The collector of the PNP transistor taps into the inductor of the parallel LC circuit such that the inductor is driven to resonance.

Modified Colpitts oscillator for driving an antenna coil and generating a clock signal

Low jitter ring oscillators are disclosed. The oscillators obtain their low jitter through the use of gates (100) and interpolators (160) having time delays of superior stability. The stability is obtained with decoupling networks (140) and delay replica generators (222) that isolate power supply noise from critical circuit parameters.

Low jitter ring oscillators

A low noise, high frequency oscillator (50) is disclosed which includes a JFET (100) having a tuned circuit (102) connected in a feedback arrangement with it. The JFET is operated in a self-biasing mode and includes a gate biasing circuit (104) comprised of a capacitor (114) and a resistor (116). The capacitor (114) and resistor (116) are selected such that the gate bias circuit (104) represents a low impedance path to low frequency noise components. These low frequency noise components are therefore shunted to ground, and do not modulate the operation of the JFET (100). This significantly reduces noise in the oscillator output signal. A hot carrier diode (118) is connected across the gate-to-source junction of the JFET (100) to reduce loading on the tuned circuit (102) by the JFET (100).

Low noise oscillator circuit

A microwave oscillator circuit is provided for decreasing the number of passive elements such as inductance, etc. in microwave oscillators and frequency doublers. A microwave oscillator circuit is connected to a resonator circuit generating a signal at a frequency f, and produces at its output a signal of frequency nf, and comprises a first field effect transistor having a gate connected to the resonator circuit, a second field effect transistor whose source/drain path is connected in series with the source/drain path of the first field effect transistor and a connecting circuit for coupling either the gate or source of the first field effect transistor to the gate of the second field effect transistor. A signal of frequency nf is output at a node corresponding to a connection point between the source of the first field effect transistor and the drain of the second field effect transistor.
