Humic Substances and Efficient Microorganisms: Elicitation of Medicinal Plants—A Review
Maysa Mathias Alves Pereira,Ludmila Caproni Morais,E. A. Marques,Adalvan Daniel Martins,Vytória Piscitelli Cavalcanti,Filipe Almendagna Rodrigues,Wilson Magela Gonçalves,A. F. Blank,Moacir Pasqual,Joyce Dória +9 more
TL;DR: The reviewed articles show that the use of fulvic acid, humic acid and efficient microorganisms in the production of medicinal plants contributes on the increase of biosynthesis, secondary metabolites production such as coumarins, alkaloids, phenylpropanoids and essential oils, as well as the increased of nutrients absorption, growth and development of species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solvent Mixture Optimization in the Extraction of Bioactive Compounds and Antioxidant Activities from Garlic (Allium sativum L.).
Vytória Piscitelli Cavalcanti,Smail Aazza,Suzan Kelly Vilela Bertolucci,João Pedro Miranda Rocha,Adriane Duarte Coelho,Altino Júnior Mendes Oliveira,Laís Campelo Mendes,Maysa Mathias Alves Pereira,Ludmila Caproni Morais,Moacir Rossi Forim,Moacir Pasqual,Joyce Dória +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a statistical mixture simplex axial design was used to evaluate the effect of solvents (water, ethanol, and acetone) on the performance of the extracted garlic powder.
Journal ArticleDOI
Challenges of organic agriculture for the production of composts and vermicompost for the production of medicinal plants – A socioeconomic demand
Maysa Mathias Alves Pereira,Ludmila Caproni Morais,Adalvan Daniel Martins,José Magno Queiroz Luz,Moacir Pasqual,Roberta Camargos de Oliveira,Joyce Dória +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that although these sectors produce a considerable amount of residues, they are not being reused in formulation of organic composts and vermicompost, and commercial organic fertilizers recommended for medicinal plant production were not found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Organic management vs. conventional management influence the antimicrobial activity of essential oils of Origanum vulgare L
Maysa Mathias Alves Pereira,Ludmila Caproni Morais,Natália Jubram Zeneratto,Willian de Souza Matias Reis,Omar Cabezas Gómez,Jaine Honorata Hortolam Luiz,Dajara Moana Barbosa Moreira,Moacir Pasqual,Joyce Dória +8 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that the formulation of vermicomposting and the use of rhizobacteria are potential technologies and tools for family farmers and traditional community in the cultivation of orégano.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transatlantic and Ancestral Routes and the Pharmacological and Biological Potential of Ocimum basilicum L.: A Review
Maysa Mathias Alves Pereira,Ludmila Caproni Morais,José Magno Queiroz Luz,Moacir Pasqual,Joyce Dória +4 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that O. basilicum L. is an endemic species of the African continent, introduced in Brazil on the transatlantic route and that the traditional and ancestral knowledge for therapeutic use and application was already present in the territory, before the studies of proof of activity, post slavery period.
