Journal ArticleDOI

Pozzolanic consolidation of stabilized soft clays

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the pre-consolidation stress and compression index of the stabilized soft clay as a practical criterion for determining the optimum additive percentage in soft clays stabilization.

Geo-environmental behaviour of nanoclays in interaction with heavy metal contaminants

V.R. Ouhadi, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the possibility of application of nanoclays for retention of heavy metal (HM) contaminant were investigated and the buffering capacity, retention properties and XRD experiments were performed on bentonite, kaolinite and nanoclay samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

The special potential of nano-clays for heavy metal contaminant retention in geo-environmental projects

TL;DR: In this article, a series of geo-environmental experiments were performed to establish the fundamental aspects of nano-clay and contaminant interaction, and the results showed that even though carbonate has more impact than surface area on contaminant sorption by soils, the large specific surface are of nano clays is responsible for their very high contaminant retention ability.
