Adsorbent properties of red mud and its use for wastewater treatment
TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of using red mud (RM), a residue from bauxite refining, for wastewater treatment was assessed with a view to simultaneously conserving the environment and an important natural resource.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copper distribution and dynamics in acid vineyard soils treated with copper based fungicides
TL;DR: In this article, the presence, form distribution, adsorption-desorption dynamics, and transport of copper in 20 acid vineyard soils from northwest Spain were investigated, and total copper concentration varied considerably but exceeded
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of iron and aluminium oxides on the colloidal and surface properties of kaolin
TL;DR: In this article, the interaction of a kaolin substrate with iron and aluminium oxides and/or hydroxides obtained by basification of solutions of the metal ions was compared to that of quartz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Revegetation of burnt areas: relative effectiveness of native and commercial seed mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of Hg(II) with kaolin-humic acid complexes
M. Arias,María Teresa Barral,J. Da Silva-Carvalhal,Juan C. Mejuto,David A. Rubinos,David A. Rubinos +5 more
TL;DR: The adsorption and desorption of Hg(II) by humic acid (HA) previously adsorbed on kaolin was studied in this paper, where it was shown that the presence of HA dramatically reduced the percentage of desorbed Hg (II) to values of <3%.
