Evaluation of interfacial bonding in dissimilar materials of YSZ–alumina composites to 6061 aluminium alloy using friction welding

TL;DR: In this article, the interfacial microstructures characteristics of alumina ceramic body reinforced with yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) was evaluated after friction welding to 6061 aluminum alloy using optical and electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and characterization of a nigerian mesoporous clay-based membrane for uranium removal from underground water

TL;DR: In this article, the removal of uranium in underground wastewater using a Nigerian clay-based membrane was reported, where the raw clay was mixed with cassava starch (10, 15, 20 and 25wt%) and sintered at a temperature of 1300°C.
Journal ArticleDOI

An insight into microstructural evolution during plastic deformation in AA6061 alloy after friction welding with alumina-YSZ composite

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of plastic deformation on microstructural changes in AA6061 alloys is studied using optical microscopy, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), microhardness and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
Journal ArticleDOI

A review of thermoelectric ZnO nanostructured ceramics for energy recovery

TL;DR: In this article, an effort is made to study the thermoelectric properties and elements doping related with zinc oxide nanoceramic materials, and effective ZnO dopants and doping strategies to achieve high electrical and thermal conductivities and high carrier concentration are highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Joint properties of friction welded 6061 aluminum alloy/YSZ–alumina composite at low rotational speed

TL;DR: In this article, a ceramic composite of alumina-yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) was friction welded to 6061 aluminum alloy and the results indicated that the mechanical properties including bending strength and Vickers microhardness were measured.
