Relationship of Ultrasonic Spectral Parameters to Features of Tissue Microstructure
TL;DR: Three models of tissue microstructure were considered, and calibrated power spectra were computed for a series of scatterer sizes, concentrations, and acoustic impedances to simulate studies of the eye and liver.
Journal ArticleDOI
Focal and diffuse liver disease studied by quantitative microstructural sonography.
TL;DR: Using retrospective three-parameter discriminant analysis, 23 out of 24 patients were successfully categorized, suggesting that the parameters used were capable of measuring microstructural changes associated with these disease states and may offer promise in distinguishing tumors from normal cases and alcoholic liver disease as well as from each other.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation studies of ultrasonic backscattering and B-mode images of liver using acoustic microscopy data
F.L. Lizzi,M.C. Rorke,Donald L. King,Ernest J. Feleppa,Andrew Kalisz,J.B. Sokil-Melgar,J. Nowakowski +6 more
TL;DR: Data obtained from a scanning laser acoustic microscope were used to examine several aspects of ultrasonic backscattering from the liver, including B-mode speckling, frequency and beamwidth effects, and angulation dependencies.
