Feasibility of multi-layered tubular components forming by hydroforming and finite element simulation

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-layer tube has been studied experimentally and by FE simulation by applying both internal pressure and in-plane compressive load as the main forming loads and the simulation results have been verified by experiment on the basis of the deformation states of the formed components.
Journal Article

Experimental and finite element simulation of formability and failures in multilayered tubular components

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-layered tubular blank is placed in a pre-shaped die block to avoid wrinkling or bursting of the tubular blanks, and a finite element simulation of a multi layered tube hydroforming and optimisation of the best forming conditions based on a number of simulations were carried out to avoid wrinkles or bursting.

Mechanical stresses in the multilayered T-branch hydroforming: numerical simulation

TL;DR: Different kind of mechanical stresses which result from the hydroforming process in a multilayered T-branch simulation for multilayed tubes comprising an outer layer of commercial brass and an internal layer of annealed copper are described.
