Uptake of sodium and potassium by calcite

TL;DR: In this article, coprecipitation of sodium and potassium with calcite was investigated at pH's 7.38-10.60 and 20°C, and the relationship satisfactorily explained the correlation of Na contents of natural calcites with salinity, and suggested that Na+ and K+ are located at interstitial positions between carbonate ions and CaO6 octahedra in calcite.

Uptake of fluoride by aragonite

TL;DR: In this article, the ion exchange process was used to estimate the F content of marine aragonite under the equilibrium condition at 15°C and 1 atm. The partition of F between aqueous solution and aragonitic solution was described by log ( [ F ] a F ) = 1.95 + 0.54 log a Ca were [F] denotes the f content of aragonites in mol/g, and a F and a C a are the aiquous activities of F − and Ca 2+, respectively.
