Evolution of the Palaeolithic in Central and Eastern Europe

In spite of substantial advances in the knowledge of American "native" populations and early man in America, no more is known today than three decades ago about their possible genetic affinities beyond the continent. This paper summarizes some of the reasons for this situation and suggests lines of research to correct it, among these the integration of relevant anthropological studies, including those beyond the limits of human biology.
