Journal ArticleDOI

Microalbuminuria, renal dysfunction and cardiovascular complication in essential hypertension.

TL;DR: The transversal phase of the research confirms the relationship between blood pressure pattern and early glomerular changes in essential hypertensives without overt proteinuria and emphasizes the role of microalbuminuria as a marker of early cardiac, renal and retinal structural and functional changes inessential hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence that the interaction between circulating IgA and fibronectin is a normal process enhanced in primary IgA nephropathy.

TL;DR: The studies suggest that the ability of polymeric IgA to directly bind to FN is involved in the formation of circulating IgA-FN complexes and that this normal binding process, although enhanced in IgAN, is probably not responsible for kidney injury, at least in the patients studied.
Journal Article

Human anti-alpha-galactosyl IgG reduces the lung colonization by murine MO4 cells.

TL;DR: The lung colonization of MO4 cells, a highly malignant murine cell line, is strongly reduced in syngeneic C3H/He mice by a prior incubation with anti-alpha-galactosyl antibody (alpha-Gal Ab), a natural IgG antibody present in high titers in all normal human sera and specifically recognizing Gal alpha(1----3) structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Therapy with lamivudine and steroids in a patient with acute hepatitis B and rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis

TL;DR: It is reported that lamivudine improves renal outcome in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and membranous nephropathy and experience on acute hepatitis B and rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis is added.
