Journal ArticleDOI

Nano-MgO reinforced chitosan nanocomposites for high performance packaging applications with improved mechanical, thermal and barrier properties.

TL;DR: Chitosan nanocomposite thin films fabricated by incorporating MgO nanoparticles to significantly improve its physical properties for potential packaging applications displayed remarkable thermal stability, flame retardant properties, UV shielding and moisture barrier properties, which could certainly add value to the packaging material.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facile synthesis of both needle-like and spherical hydroxyapatite nanoparticles: effect of synthetic temperature and calcination on morphology, crystallite size and crystallinity.

TL;DR: The ability to use readily available cheap raw materials, for the synthesis of such well-defined crystallites of hydroxyapatite, is an added advantage of this method, which may be explored further for the scaling up of the procedures to suit to industrial scale synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnesium Oxide Nanoparticles Reinforced Electrospun Alginate-Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds with Improved Physical Properties.

TL;DR: These novel alginate-based/MgO scaffolds are economical and versatile and may be further optimised for use as extracellular matrix substitutes for repair and regeneration of tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation of amorphous calcium carbonate nanoparticles from impure dolomitic marble with the aid of poly(acrylic acid) as a stabilizer

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple and economical method to synthesize poly(acrylic acid) stabilized calcined calcium carbonate (ACC) nanoparticles using impure dolomitic marbles in place of natural pure CaCO 3 raw materials is presented.
