Corrosion behaviour of aluminium metal matrix composites reinforced with TiC processed by pressureless melt infiltration
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the corrosion resistance of commercial aluminium alloy (2024) and binary Al-Mg and Al-Cu x 1.5% NaCl solution using potentiodynamic polarization curves and linear polarization resistance measurements.
Book ChapterDOI
Assessment of Stress Corrosion Cracking on Pipeline Steels Weldments Used in the Petroleum Industry by Slow Strain Rate Tests
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the role of hydrogen in the formation and propagation of SCC in pipelines and found that high-pH-SCC is associated with the dissolution of the crack tip and sides, accompanied by the ingress of hydrogen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical Noise for Detection of Stress Corrosion Cracking of Low Carbon Steel Exposed to Synthetic Soil Solution
TL;DR: In this paper, the SSRT of the X52 steel in air and in synthetic soil solution (NS4 solution) was carried out in order to calculate the reduction area (RA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion kinetics of pipeline carbon steel weld immersed in aqueous solution containing H2S
C. Avendaño-Castro,Ricardo Galván-Martínez,Antonio Contreras,M. Salazar,Ricardo Orozco-Cruz,E. Martinez,R. Torres-Sanchez +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the corrosion of weldment of API X52 pipeline steel immersed in NACE solution saturated with H2S was studied and the electrochemical techniques, polarisation curves and linear polarisation resistance were carried out in samples of pipeline steel focus in the three different zones of the weldment: heat affected zone, weld bead and base metal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sulfide Stress Cracking Susceptibility of Welded X-60 and X-65 Pipeline Steels
TL;DR: In this article, the susceptibility of API X-60 and X-65 longitudinal weld beads to sulfide stress cracking (SSC) has been evaluated using slow strain rate tests (SSRT) in the NACE solution saturated with...
