Journal ArticleDOI

A library for X-ray-matter interaction cross sections for X-ray fluorescence applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a compilation of data sets from different published works and an xraylib interface in the form of callable functions, which can be easily included in software applications for X-ray fluorescence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and acid resistance of maya blue pigment

TL;DR: Maya blue is an organo-clay artificial pigment composed of indigo and palygorskite It was invented and frequently used in Mesoamerica in ancient times (eighth to 16th centuries) as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microanalysis study of archaeological mural samples containing Maya blue pigment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied elemental analysis by X-ray fluorescence and particle induced Xray emission to the study of several Mesoamerican mural samples containing blue pigments.
Journal ArticleDOI

ShadowOui: a new visual environment for X-ray optics and synchrotron beamline simulations

TL;DR: ShadowOui is introduced, a new computer environment for X-ray optics, beamline simulations and virtual experiments using the ray-tracing code SHADOW.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of the octahedral cations on the dimensions of the palygorskite cell

TL;DR: In this paper, high-resolution synchrotron X-ray diffraction recorded on a collection of palygorskites with different chemical compositions (obtained by analytical electron microscopy) was used to obtain unambiguous correlation of the crystallographic parameters a (or a sin b if a monoclinic phase is considered) with the nature of the octahedral sheet.
