Several thousands of people die day to day due to the time lag taken by the Ambulance service to reach the accident spot. This happens due to traffic jam, congestion in the city. A prototype of an emergency flying air ambulance or an ambulance drone which can reach the fatal cases faster than a normal ambulance which saves time is designed and it also measures the different health parameters using its measuring devices. When a phone call is given to the emergency number, the emergency operator tracks the location and navigate using global positioning system. The ambulance drone enters the scene in the instant time and real time commands are provided by the operator. The drone consist of a mini patient monitoring system which comprises of variant sensors which can be conveniently attached to the victim body and the important parameters is measured and it is immediately sent to the ambulance as well as to the nearby hospital using global positioning system and ZIGBEE. The particular result helps the paramedics as well as the doctors to evaluate the situation quicker with better diagnostic and therapeutic choices. Therefore, the goal is to develop an all purpose medical toolkit that can be flawn to any crisis situation and it is used to give the actual time situation results to the ambulance and the hospital team so that they will be ready to serve to the needs of the patients. This prototype helps to support the routine ambulance rather than replacing the normal ambulance

Quadcopter based technology for an emergency healthcare

Internet has evolved from connecting computers to connecting everyday things that interacts with the environment. Embedded devices that are IP-enabled can be employed for real time remote monitoring in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. This work demonstrates an efficient method of real time remote monitoring of environmental parameters using Intel Galileo –an IP sensor node that acquires the data from the environment like temperature, pressure etc. and a server that is connected to the Wi-Fi router that acts as a gateway for this network. The Web server provides the real time sensor information with dynamic updates in the form of webpage to the remote client.

Internet of Things Application using IP-enabled Sensor Node and Web Server

Attendance is one of the important factors that determine the students rendering. There is a necessity to build a smart system that decrease load in managing the attendance and improves the performance of colleges, universities and any educational institute. The most common actions in educational organizations involve identification of student, maintenance of student attendance, security of attendance and electrical power conservation at the place where the attendance is taken. In this paper, the mentioned topics are considered and present how evolving technologies of radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless sensor network (WSN) can be used for building a smart university. Prototype is developed considering main cases concerned in a smart university. The system is interesting of smart student attendance, smart automation of electrical items and taking attendance in authenticated manner. Results show that consumption of energy is decreased while authentication and truthfulness of attendance record are increased.

Designing Smart University using RFID and WSN

This research article depicts the working of a secured door unlocking system, using a cloud based mobile application. Easy access of home key is controlled remotely irrespective of the time and space. The application is specially designed it biometrics face recognition initialization for home door unlocking using IOT paradigm and OpenCV (image processing). The major scope of the application is to secure and control the shelter in the owner’s absentia. The user Interface of the work is rendered in such a way that, a typical household can understand the terminologies and usages.

Raspberry Pi based Automatic Door Control System

With the rapid growth of user equipment (UE), the amount of data transmitted over networks has become enormous, exerting immense pressure on backbone networks and central cloud infrastructures. Simultaneously, corresponding applications requiring high energy consumption and low latency have multiplied the requirements for UE. Mobile edge computing (MEC) has been proposed to support the offloading of UE tasks to edge clouds for execution. The implementation of MEC requires fast data transmission between UE and edge servers, and the emerging 5G network appears to render this technology possible. In this paper, considering a large number of UE, a fixed MEC server, and an advanced intelligent network, we suggest an intelligent overclocking mechanism for the MEC server that operates for an intelligently calculated period to allow it to leverage more computing power without introducing additional hardware resources for a certain period of time. We jointly manage task offloading, server resource allocation, and overclocking to minimize the system-wide computation overhead and other risks. The proposed optimization problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem that is divided into three subproblems: offloading decision, resource allocation, and overclocking decision. We solve these subproblems using non-convex techniques and provide an iterative algorithm to obtain a heuristic solution for the original problem. Finally, simulation results show that the overclocked MEC server has lower system-wide computation overhead, faster task processing, and more offloaded UE as compared with the case without overclocking.

Joint time delay and energy optimization with intelligent overclocking in edge computing

Web Server based monitoring has been an issue for industries as they make use of PC-based servers which consume large power and occupy large area. This limitation can be overcome by replacing the existing PC-based server by an Embedded Web Server using Raspberry Pi. The prime objective of this paper is to design a remote data acquisition system which is controlled by Linux portable ARM processor and web server application with General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technology. This system focuses not only on device monitoring but also controlling it. The monitoring and data collection is accompanied by a Short Message Service (SMS), an email alert which is initiated in order to avoid the occurrence of a critical event. The system is capable enough to withstand power failure and capable of restarting from the point of failure.

Improving computer performance is always been an area of intensive research. Overclocking is used to gain additional performance from a given component by increasing its operating speed. Through overclocking a computer is forced to operate faster than the manufactured clock frequency. Overclocking increases the operating frequency of a given hardware such as CPU, graphics card, memory chip etc. Increasing a component's clock rate causes it to perform more operations per second. Overclocking is a complex process. There are different overclocking methods that can be used to improve the performance of computer such as BCLK overclocking, FSB Overclocking etc. This paper goes through different kind of overclocking methods.

Development of mobile communication is rapid, with different methods and techniques being introduced in wireless communications. The next few pages will deal with the detailed study of wireless cellular technologies—first, second, third, and fourth generations eventually leading to the fifth generation as well. This will visualize the evolution from analog system transmissions to digital transmissions which brought the usage of audio, graphics, video, etc. The evolution also gave rise to Internet on the cellular mobile phones which were once realizable only in computers through broadband connections. With improved technologies, we saw the development of fourth-generation cell phones which harnessed the use of LTE. The world is moving very fast, and the corporates involved in mobile communications are in a strong tussle to achieve the fifth generation of mobile networks which will shift the world’s entire way of functioning from autonomous vehicles to IoT and many other things which could be seen only as part of sci-fi movies.

All the real-time systems are bound with response time constraints, or else, there is a risk of  severe consequences, which includes failure. The System will fail when not able to meet the requirements according to the specifications. The problem of real-time scheduling is very vast, ranging from uni-processor to complicated-multiprocessor. In this paper, we have compared the performance of real-time tasks that should be scheduled properly, to get optimum performance. Analysis methodology and the concept of optimization leads to the design of appropriate scheduling. We have done  the analysis among RM and EDF algorithm that are important for scheduling in uni-processor.
