Journal ArticleDOI
Photochemical cis/trans isomerization of a stilbazolium betaine. A protolytic/photochemical reaction cycle
TL;DR: In this article, photochemical and thermal cis/trans isomerization of stilbazolium betaine (M) is reported. But the structure established by IH NMR is not known.
Book ChapterDOI
History of Photodynamic Therapy
TL;DR: Photodynamic therapy is a form of phototherapy that involves three key components: a photosensitizer, a light source, and tissue oxygen that become toxic to the targeted cells when these components are combined together.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and tautomeric structure of novel 3,7-bis(arylazo)-2,6-diphenyl-1H-imidazo-[1,2-b]pyrazoles in ground and excited states
TL;DR: Two series of novel 3,7-bis(arylazo)-2,6-diphenyl-1 H -imidazo[1,2- b ] pyrazoles were prepared starting from N -aryl 2-oxo-2-phenylethanehydrazonoyl bromides and acid dissociation constants in both the ground and excited states, p K and p K ∗, respectively, were determined for both series and were correlated by the Hammett equation as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chlorophyll derivative mediated PDT versus methotrexate: an in vitro study using MCF-7 cells.
TL;DR: Compared to MTX, light activated chlorophyll derivative proved to be a better candidate for breast cancer cell toxicity, referring to its higher efficacy at tumour cells killing, safety to normal cells and simple method of extraction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ethosomes and lipid-coated chitosan nanocarriers for skin delivery of a chlorophyll derivative: A potential treatment of squamous cell carcinoma by photodynamic therapy.
Soad Nasr,Mai Rady,Iman Gomaa,Tatiana Syrovets,Thomas Simmet,Walid Fayad,Mahmoud H. Abdel-Kader +6 more
TL;DR: Both types of nanocarriers can be used for their potential treatment of SCC using PDT depending on the tumour localization in the skin.
