Diet and bladder cancer in Spain : a multi-centre case-control study
Elio Riboli,Carlos González,Gonzalo López-Abente,Manuel Errezola,Isabel Izarzugaza,Antonio Escolar,Manuel Nebot,Bertrand Hémon,Antonio Agudo +8 more
TL;DR: The results of this multi‐centre case‐control study on bladder cancer and diet suggest that saturated fat intake may influence the occurrence of bladder cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Occupation and Bladder Cancer in Spain: A Multi-Centre Case-Control Study
Carlos González,Gonzalo López-Abente,Manuel Errezola,Antonio Escolar,Elio Riboli,Isabel Izarzugaza,Manuel Nebot +6 more
TL;DR: An increased risk of bladder cancer was found for textile workers, mechanics and maintenance workers, and managers who had also been employed in one of the high risk occupations which is compatible with a multiplicative effect of joint exposure to tobacco and occupational hazards.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tobacco Smoke Inhalation Pattern, Tobacco Type, and Bladder Cancer in Spain
Gonzalo López-Abente,Carlos González,Manuel Errezola,Antonio Escolar,Isabel Izarzugaza,Manuel Nebot,Elio Riboli +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that it is important to consider inhalation patterns when studying risk variations between smokers of black tobacco and smokers of blond tobacco, and that different components of cigarette smoke may play a role at different stages of the carcinogenic process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urinary infection, renal lithiasis and bladder cancer in Spain.
Carlos González,Manuel Errezola,Isabel Izarzugaza,Gonzalo López-Abente,Antonio Escolar,Manuel Nebot,Elio Riboli +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the association of urinary infections with bladder cancer is probably not causal and is more likely to be a consequence of cancer, although a weak causal association cannot be excluded.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bladder cancer and coffee consumption in smokers and non-smokers in Spain.
Antonio Escolar Pujolar,Carlos González,Gonzalo López-Abente,Manuel Errezola,Isabel Izarzugaza,Manel Nebot,Elio Riboli +6 more
TL;DR: The associations observed in non-smokers suggest the existence of a possible association between coffee consumption and bladder cancer, but are based on small numbers and need to be confirmed in larger studies.
