Journal ArticleDOI

Modulation of NKp30- and NKp46-Mediated Natural Killer Cell Responses by Poxviral Hemagglutinin

TL;DR: It is reported that VV infection results in an upregulation of ligand structures forNKp30 and NKp46 on infected cells, whereas the binding of NKp44 and NKG2D was not significantly affected, and it is concluded that poxviral HA represents a conserved ligand of NCR, exerting a novel immune escape mechanism through its blocking effect on NKp30-mediated activation at a late stage of infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human cytomegalovirus Fcγ binding proteins gp34 and gp68 antagonize Fcγ receptors I, II and III.

TL;DR: Surface immune-precipitation showed that both HCMV-encoded Fcγ binding proteins have the capacity to bind trastuzumab antibody-HER2 antigen complexes demonstrating simultaneous linkage of immune IgG with antigen and the H CMV inhibitors on the plasma membrane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of DNA-damage DNA-binding protein 1 as a conditional essential factor for cytomegalovirus replication in interferon-γ-stimulated cells.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that pM27 is essential and sufficient to curtail the protein half-life of STAT2 molecules and phenocopying the growth attenuation of M27-deficient virus.
