The Utility of Thermodynamic Interpretation of Polarization Curves

TL;DR: In this paper, a description of several principles related to the thermodynamic interpretation of polarization curves is given, including reaction potential, equilibrium potential, affinity, overvoltage, direction in which an electrochemical reaction occurs, and polarization curves of an electrophoresis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ein Vergleich zwischen den Ergebnissen der elektrochemischen Korrosionsprüfmethoden und dem Verhalten der Werkstoffe in der Praxis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the results of electrochemical corrosion testing methods with the practical performance of the materials and provided an extensive synopsis of present-day knowledge and experience on this subject, with detailed bibliographical notes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic and thermodynamic behaviour inside occluded corrosion cells interpreted by potential/pH diagrams

TL;DR: In this article, simulated occluded solutions of different pH values and Cl− concentration were used to study the chemical and electrochemical behavior of OCC, and potential/pH diagrams were constructed by superimposing the potentiokinetic polarization curves and zero-current potential/time curves obtained in the above-mentioned different simulated OCC solutions.
