Towards Integrated and Adapted Health Services for Nomadic Pastoralists and their Animals: A North–South Partnership

TL;DR: The elements that led to innovative health and veterinary services for nomadic pastoralists of Chad are described here in a chronologic way; such as joint vaccination services of the public health and the livestock sectors and subsequent initiatives that were initiated by the nomadic communities once they began to trust the programme.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fine-scale spatial and temporal heterogeneities in insecticide resistance profiles of the malaria vector, Anopheles arabiensis in rural south-eastern Tanzania.

TL;DR: Substantial, though incomplete, reversal of pyrethroid and bendiocarb resistance following pre-exposure to PBO and TPP, and absence of kdr alleles suggest involvement of P450 monooxygenases and esterases in the resistant phenotypes are confirmed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid Urban Malaria Appraisal (RUMA) IV: epidemiology of urban malaria in Cotonou (Benin).

TL;DR: The homogenously low malaria prevalence might be associated with urban transformation and/or a high bednet usage, while over-diagnosis of malaria and over-treatment with antimalarials was found to be a serious problem.
