Anacardium othonianum Rizz. is a Brazilian savannah native species, commonly known as caju-dearvore- do-cerrado. Its usual reproduction is by seeds or asexually; however, its use in forest programs or for commercial orchards demands continuous and large scale seedling production. This study evaluated the effect of naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), the position of the explants and the effect of lighting in the regeneration of A. othonianum Rizz. stem segments. The Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) medium was used in the first test, amended with nine combinations of NAA (0, 5.37 and 10.74 μM) and BAP (0, 4.44 and 8.88 μM) in a completely randomized design. While the second test was arranged as a 2 × 2 factorial, evaluating the orientation of the explants (upright or horizontal) and incubation condition (absence or presence of light). The number of buds, the number and average length of leaves and the number of plantlets were evaluated after 30 and 60 days of growth. The results obtained indicate that the concentrations of BAP and NAA used had no effect on the multiplication of A. othonianum Rizz. stem segments, and the best morpho-physiologic in vitro response was obtained with horizontal segments in the presence of light. In vitro cultivation of Anacardium othonianum Rizz.: Effects of growth regulator, explant orientation and lighting

This research aimed to develop a protocol for the micropropagation of Mussaenda erytrophylla cv. Rosea. Calcium hypochlorite or sodium hypochlorite (2.5%) was used for the sterilization of bracts segments, with or without previous immersion in alcohol 70%. For callus induction, bracts segments were inoculated on MS medium with different concentrations of BAP and NAA. For buds induction, callus were inoculated on MS medium with different concentrations of cytokinins BAP, 2iP, and KIN (0.0 mg L -1 , 0.5 mg L -1 , 1.0 mg L -1 , and 2.0 mg L -1 ). For multiplication, nodal segments from in vitro plants were inoculated in MS medium with BAP, KIN, and 2iP, in the concentrations of 0.0 mg L -1 , 0.5 mg L -1 , 1.0 mg L -1 , and 2.0 mg L -1 . For rooting, nodal segments from in vitro plants were inoculated using two MS medium dilutions: full strength and half strength of MS basal salt mixture (macronutrients salts) and different concentrations of IBA (0.00 mg L -1 , 0.25 mg L -1 , 0.50 mg L -1 , and 1.00 mg L -1 ). The best sterilization treatment was achieved by using calcium hypochlorite combined with immersion in alcohol. For callus induction, the MS medium with 0.4 mg L -1 of NAA plus 4.0 mg L -1 of BAP was more efficient. Bud multiplication was improved in MS medium with 0.5 mg L -1 of 2iP or 1.0 mg L -1 of KIN. The highest percentage of explants with roots without emission of callus was observed in the medium with 50% and 100% of MS salts without IBA. Desenvolvimento inicial de cultivares de mirtileiro na região de Ponta Grossa (PR) Initial Development of mirtileiro cultivars in the region of Ponta Grossa (PR)

The objective of this work was to determine the cytokinin type, the light quality and the explant orientation in the culture medium that favor the in vitro multiplication of blueberry shoots cv. Delite. In the first experiment, the treatments applied were two cytokinins in the culture medium (2iP [25 M] and zeatin [18 µM]) and two light qualities (white and green). In the second experiment, the treatments were constituted of two cytokinins used in the culture medium (2iP [25 µM] and zeatin [18 µM]) and two explants orientations in the culture medium (vertical and horizontal). In both experiments the completely randomized experimental design was used, in factorial outline 2 x 2. The basal culture medium, used in the two experiments, was constituted by the WPM salts and the MS vitamins, added of myo-inositol (100 mg.L-1), sucrose (30 g.L-1) and agar (6 g.L-1). To the 30 days in culture it were evaluated the mean number of shoots and buds for explant, the mean length of the shoots and the length of the shoot more developed (major). In the second experiment it was also determined the multiplication rate. It was observed that the in vitro multiplication of blueberry shoots cv. Delite is favored with the cultivation of the explants in culture medium with zeatin (18 µM) and under white light. The explants cultivated in the horizontal orientation in the culture medium had larger mean number of shoots.
