TL;DR: Premium quality is defined by nutritional benefits, softness and aroma in Southeast Asia, and by the physical appearance of the grains (uniformity, whiteness, slenderness, satiety, and aroma), which are found to be consistent with industry perceptions and have important implications for regional and national breeding programs.

Impact of access to capital and abiotic stress on production efficiency: Evidence from rice farming in Cambodia
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the impact of abiotic stresses (droughts and floods) and access to capital on the farming efficiency of smallholders in Cambodia and concluded that increasing rice productivity can help in improving income and thereby reducing poverty among Cambodian rice producers.
