Representações sociais: investigações em psicologia social

It was done a bibliometric analysis of the multidisciplinary journals of psychology recently incorporated in the Web of Science (WoS) in 2008 and 2009. A total of 448 "articles" and "revisions" was analyzed, where the nationality of the authors, the index of responsibility and the contents of the works were examined. The results show that Psicologia: Reflexao e Critica is the journal that has more published articles. There are differences in the diversity and number of collaborating countries, being the journal Universitas Psychologica the one that has greater representation of authors from different countries from the origin of the journal. There are more individual articles (31.25%), followed by works signed by two (28.57%) and three authors (21.43%), respectively. The majority of articles is classified within the areas of Social Psychology (18.75%), followed by articles of Clinical Psychology (16.74%) and works related to Psychology of Education (11.16%), clarifying that the greater contribution of clinical works comes from the Revista Latinoamericana de Psicopatologia Fundamental (with 40.7% of the total of its publications).

Análisis bibliométrico de las revistas multidisciplinares de psicología recientemente incorporadas en la Web of Science (2008-2009)

A psychosocial approach to rural development and development interventions, which we designate as ‘psychology of rural development’ (PsyRD), does not yet exist as an area of research or intervention within the field of psychology or development studies, even though rural development is in part obviously shaped by psychosocial factors. Thus, in this discussion paper, we argue the need for PsyRD, explore how it may provide new insights and tools for analysis vis-a-vis rural development scenarios and issues of social equity and outline the shape that, in our view, such a psychology should take. First, the multiple dimensions of rural development and the many practical problems faced by rural development agents contain strong psychosocial elements that require contributions from psychology. Yet at the same time, the psychological literature on this topic contains many limitations and biases, which leads us to, in the second part of the paper lay the groundwork for a PsyRD that focuses on the importance of adopting a critical and interdisciplinary approach capable of dealing with complexity and multidetermination. Finally, we conclude by outlining the challenges of PsyRD.

Towards a Psychology of Rural Development Processes and Interventions

espanolResumen: El objetivo de esta investigacion es caracterizar proyectos de vida de adolescentes privados de libertad debido a la comision de actos de infraccion. Un estudio de multiples casos se realizo con cuatro grupos focales. Participaron del estudio 25 adolescentes, entre 15 y 19 anos, internos en unidades socioeducativas en las regiones metropolitanas de Espirito Santo y Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Los datos fueron tratados a partir del analisis tematico, utilizando procedimientos sistematicos para la diferenciacion de los casos. Se verificaron dos formas de los participantes de concebir el futuro: 1) a partir de proyectos de vida vinculados a la criminalidad, incluyendo un sentido de accion claro para el futuro; y 2) a partir de aspiraciones de futuro relacionadas con educacion, familia y trabajo, pero sin un sentido de accion a traves del cual se intentaba lograr tales aspiraciones. Los resultados sugieren que el sistema socioeducativo es infectivo en la promocion de proyectos de vida saludables. EnglishAbstract:This research characterizes life projects of adolescents deprived of their liberty due to the commission of offenses. It is a multiple case study conducted through four focus groups, which had twenty-five adolescents as participants. The adolescents were aged between 15 and 19 years old and were confined in juvenile detention centers in the Metropolitan Regions of Espirito Santo and Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Data were treated by thematic analysis and systematic procedures were used for differentiating the cases. There were two ways of conceiving future among participants: 1) with life projects associated to crime, which included a clear sense of action for the future; and 2) with future aspirations related to education, family, and work, but without a sense of action by which one attempted to achieve such aspirations. The results suggest that the social educative system is infective in promoting healthy life projects portuguesResumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa e caracterizar projetos de vida de adolescentes privados de liberdade devido ao cometimento de atos infracionais. Trata-se de um estudo de multiplos casos conduzido por meio de quatro grupos focais. Participaram dos grupos 25 adolescentes, entre 15 e 19 anos, internos em unidades socioeducativas nas regioes metropolitanas do Espirito Santo e Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Os dados foram tratados a partir da analise tematica, utilizando-se procedimentos sistematicos para a diferenciacao dos casos. Verificaram-se duas formas de conceber o futuro entre os participantes: 1) a partir de projetos de vida vinculados a criminalidade, que incluiam um sentido de acao claro para o futuro; e 2) a partir de aspiracoes de futuro relacionadas a educacao, familia e trabalho, mas sem um sentido de acao por meio do qual se intentava atingir tais aspiracoes. Os resultados sugerem a infetividade do sistema socioeducativo em promover projetos de vida saudaveis.

Projetos futuros de adolescentes privados de liberdade: implicações para o processo socioeducativo

The objective of this research was to compare the social representations of adolescents in different school contexts (public and private) about the construction of their project of life. It involved 40 adolescents, male and female, aged 16 to 19 years. A semi-structured questionnaire for socio-demographic characterization and a semi-structured interview were used as instruments. The data were submitted to content analysis, with the support of the programme ALCESTE, automatic system of textual data analysis. The data obtained showed consensual representations about the project of life, as desires, marks, previsions and strategies. Nevertheless, the students of the public schools centered their representations in the necessity of social inclusion and improvement of life, while the pupils of private school objectified their representations on the difficulty related to the choice of the profession. It follows that there is the necessity of public politicies that allow similar conditions for the construction of projects of life in these different school contexts.

Representações sociais do projeto de vida entre adolescentes no ensino médio

This publication is part of a major study (Thesis). In that thesis it was analyzed the intention of Pronaf's beneficiaries to repay the credit they have received. The Pronaf is a line of credit for small farmers implemented by the Brazilian Federal Government in 1996. Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (1991) was used to evaluate the beneficiaries' intention in paying what they owned. In order to accomplish this evaluation, two studies were conducted. The first one (Preliminary Study) focused on the small farmer's beliefs about the program operation. The second (Main Study) focused on the measurement of these beliefs. Two beneficiary groups participated of the studies: Group A (agrarian reform settlers) and Group B (small farmers). According to Ajzen's model, for the participants of the Group A, the Attitude, the Normative belief (subjective norm component) and the Subjective Norm were positive significant predictors of the Intention to repay the credit. For the Group B, the Attitude, Behavioral belief (attitude component), Normative belief (subjective norm component) and Control belief (perceived behavioral control component) were positive significant predictors of the Intention to repay the credit. The Perceived behavioral control did not influence directly the behavioral Intention, but this variable indirectly predicts the target behavior.
