The Upgraded CARISMA Magnetometer Array in the THEMIS Era

TL;DR: The infrastructure and capabilities of the expanded and upgraded Canadian Array for Realtime InvestigationS of Magnetic Activity (CARISMA) magnetometer array in the era of the THEMIS mission are described and some of the compelling questions related to these three ThemIS mission science objectives are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

THEMIS observations of electromagnetic ion cyclotron wave occurrence: Dependence on AE, SYMH, and solar wind dynamic pressure

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used an automated detection algorithm of EMIC Pc1 waves observed by THEMIS between May 2007 to December 2011 and present the occurrence rate of those waves as a function of L-shell, magnetic local time (MLT), Pdyn, AE, and SYMH.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multipoint observations of magnetospheric compression‐related EMIC Pc1 waves by THEMIS and CARISMA

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) wave activity appears to be confined to a region of higher plasma density in the vicinity of the plasmapause, as verified by ground-based crossphase analysis.
