Journal ArticleDOI
Pneumatic dilation versus laparoscopic Heller's myotomy for idiopathic achalasia.
Guy E. Boeckxstaens,Vito Annese,Stanislas Bruley des Varannes,Stanislas Chaussade,Mario Costantini,Antonello Cuttitta,J. Ignasi Elizalde,Uberto Fumagalli,Marianne Gaudric,Wout O. Rohof,André J.P.M. Smout,Jan Tack,Aeilko H. Zwinderman,Giovanni Zaninotto,Olivier R. Busch +14 more
TL;DR: After 2 years of follow-up, laparoscopic Heller's myotomy, as compared with pneumatic dilation, was not associated with superior rates of therapeutic success.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes of Treatment for Achalasia Depend on Manometric Subtype
Wout O. Rohof,Renato Salvador,Vito Annese,Stanislas Bruley des Varannes,Stanislas Chaussade,Mario Costantini,J. Ignasi Elizalde,Marianne Gaudric,André J.P.M. Smout,Jan Tack,Olivier R. Busch,Giovanni Zaninotto,Guy E. Boeckxstaens +12 more
TL;DR: A higher percentage of patients with type II achalasia (based on manometric tracings) are treated successfully with pneumatic dilation or laparoscopic Heller myotomy than patients with types I and III a Chalasia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term results of the European achalasia trial: a multicentre randomised controlled trial comparing pneumatic dilation versus laparoscopic Heller myotomy
An Moonen,Vito Annese,Ann Belmans,Albert J. Bredenoord,Stanislas Bruley des Varannes,Mario Costantini,Bertrand Dousset,J I Elizalde,Uberto Fumagalli,Marianne Gaudric,Antonio Merla,André J.P.M. Smout,Jan Tack,Giovanni Zaninotto,Olivier R. Busch,Guy E. Boeckxstaens +15 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that either laparoscopic Heller myotomy or endoscopic pneumodilation can be proposed as initial treatment for achalasia with a comparable success rate with no differences in oesophageal function and emptying after at least 5 years of follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of total and segmental colonic transit time in constipated patients. Results in 91 patients with a new simplified method.
Stanislas Chaussade,Abdallah Khyari,Hervé Roche,Marc Garret,Marianne Gaudric,Daniel Couturier,Jean Guerre +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, segmental colonic transit was studied with radiopaque markers using a new simplified technique to determine frequency and type of colic transit time (CTT) abnormalities and to determine the utility of this test in planning therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic yield of push-type enteroscopy in relation to indication
B. Landi,M Tkoub,Marianne Gaudric,Rosine Guimbaud,Cervoni Jp,Stanislas Chaussade,Daniel Couturier,J P Barbier,C. Cellier +8 more
TL;DR: Push-type enteroscopy was of some value in the exploration of patent digestive haemorrhage or chronic diarrhoea, but not of abdominal pain, and its value was limited in the Exploration of iron deficiency anaemia.
