Oxygen isotope fractionation between human phosphate and water revisited

TL;DR: Delta18OP values of modern human teeth collected at 12 sites located at latitudes ranging from 4 degrees N to 70 degrees N together with the corresponding oxygen composition of tap waters from these areas were analyzed to investigate the impact of solid food consumption on the oxygen isotope composition of the total ingested water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cenozoic long-term terrestrial climatic evolution in Germany tracked by δ18O of rodent tooth phosphate

TL;DR: In this article, the major Cenozoic climatic events are recognized in the continental oxygen isotope record and temperatures in southern Germany are broadly estimated to have fluctuated between 12 °C and 25 °C from late Eocene to early late Miocene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxygen isotope compositions of phosphate from Middle Miocene-Early Pliocene marine vertebrates of Peru

TL;DR: In this article, the oxygen isotope ratios of Pisco vertebrates have been analyzed for their isotope compositions (δ18Op) and the results indicate that the fractionation equation established by using data from extant cetaceans may not be directly applicable to Miocene cetaces in order to estimate water δ18Ow values.

Triassic and cenozoic palaeobiogeography: two case studies in quantitative modelling using idl®

TL;DR: In this article, the authors use Interactive Data Language (IDL) to generate clear and direct visualizations of simulation results and interpolation methods for personal Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
