Journal ArticleDOI

Application of the Johnson-Cook plasticity model in the finite element simulations of the nanoindentation of the cortical bone.

TL;DR: The purpose of the current study was to apply an isotropic hardening model in the finite element simulations of the nanoindentation of the cortical bone to predict its mechanical behavior and the JC model showed a good capability to describe the elastoplastic behavior of the cortex bone.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of elastic coefficients of child cortical bone using resonant ultrasound spectroscopy.

TL;DR: RUS protocol was used on 7 fibula specimens from children to estimate the whole elastic stiffness tensor of non-pathological child cortical bone considered as orthotropic, and results are consistent with this hypothesis, even if a trend towards transverse isotropy is discussed.
