Coastal and marine tourism: A challenging factor in Marine Spatial Planning

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue over the significant role of MSP in organizing and planning coastal and marine tourism activities and especially in ensuring: a) good environmental conditions for the tourism industry to prosper, b) quality of seascapes and coastal landscapes and other resources of importance to tourism, c) adaptation to climate change effects, d) spatial regulations so that coastal and Marine space is not overwhelmed by tourism facilities and activities and e) wise allocation of human uses in the coastal zone so as to avoid conflicts and create synergies among sectors.

Planning Practices for the Protection of Cultural Heritage: Lessons Learnt from the Greek UNESCO Sites

TL;DR: In this article, a case study conducted in the Greek UNESCO sites, revealed that despite the fact that most of the monuments are subjects of multiple zoning, little is accomplished for their spatial protection, either because zoning and planning launched by the Ministry for the Environment is absent or taking too long to get approved or because zoning deriving from the Ministry of Culture is void of spatial regulations.
