Journal Article

DNA probes for the detection of mycoplasmas in genital specimens.

TL;DR: The utility of whole-genomic DNA probes for the detection of infections by genital mycoplasmas was investigated in 220 men attending a sexually transmitted diseases clinic, and probe-positive, culture-negative specimens suggest that false-negative cultures occurred.
Book ChapterDOI

Acquired Tetracycline Resistance Genes

TL;DR: It was suggested that the discovery of Tcr bacteria was a relatively recent event and an unintended consequence of tetracycline use in clinical, veterinary, and agricultural experiments since the 1950s.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasmid-mediated chromosomal gene transfer in Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

TL;DR: An indigenous Neisseria gonorrhoeae conjugative plasmid, pLE2450, was tested for its ability to mediate chromosomal gene transfer between gonococcal strains and can be used to establish certain linkage relationships between amino acid and antibiotic resistance markers.
