Determination of the absolute configuration of flexible molecules by ab initio ORD calculations: a case study with Cytoxazones and Isocytoxazones

TL;DR: The calculation of ORD curves provides a reliable method for the assignment of absolute configuration of these conformationally flexible molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pyridyl and Furyl Epoxides of More Than 99% Enantiomeric Purities: The Use of a Phosphazene Base

TL;DR: Trans-1-(2-Pyridyl)-, trans-1-3-pyride-, trans-2-furyl)-and trans- 1-(3)-pyrite epoxides with enantiomericpurities ranging from 968 to 998% [in favor of the (+, EtOH)-isomer] are obtained in two steps from pure (R, R, R)-oxathi-ane which is recovered (85- 90%) and reused.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quinine-mediated parallel kinetic resolution of racemic cyclic anhydride: stereoselective synthesis, relative and absolute configuration of novel alicyclic β-amino acids

TL;DR: In this paper, four endo -isomers of (1 R,2 S )-2-amino-4-methylenecyclopentanecarboxylic acid (+)- 1 (Icofungipen) have been prepared in enantiomerically pure form.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytochemical Composition, Antioxidant Potential and Cholinesterase Inhibition Potential of Extracts from Mentha pulegium L.

TL;DR: The promising radical scavenging potential, reducing power and lipid protection potential of tested extracts indicates that the extracts of M. pulegium could be useful in preventing free radical linked diseases, as well as food protecting antioxidants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chiral Macrocyclic Bis(oxazoline) CuI Complexes – Structure/Stereoselectivity Relationships in Catalytic Cyclopropanations

TL;DR: In this article, the design and synthesis of 18 chiral macrocycles with built in C2-symmetric bis(oxazoline) units is described and the catalytic properties of their copper(I) complexes in cyclopropanations of styrene with ethyl diazoacetate are assessed.
