Journal ArticleDOI
Emerging drugs--potential for misuse in sport and doping control detection strategies.
Mario Thevis,Wilhelm Schänzer +1 more
TL;DR: Preventive doping research includes the development of methods for the detection of new or emerging drugs to be implemented in routine screening analysis inoutine screening analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, characterisation, and mass spectrometric detection of a pegylated EPO-mimetic peptide for sports drug testing purposes
TL;DR: A mass spectrometric detection method of the product in plasma was developed targeting a pentapeptide fragment after protein precipitation and subtilisin digestion and its fitness for purpose was evaluated by the determination of selected method characteristics focusing particularly on specificity, recovery, and limit of detection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydroxyurea therapy modulates sickle cell anemia red blood cell physiology: Impact on RBC deformability, oxidative stress, nitrite levels and nitric oxide synthase signalling pathway.
Elie Nader,Marijke Grau,Romain Fort,Bianca Collins,Giovanna Cannas,Alexandra Gauthier,Katja Walpurgis,Cyril Martin,Wilhelm Bloch,Solène Poutrel,Arnaud Hot,Céline Renoux,Mario Thevis,Philippe Joly,Marc Romana,Nicolas Guillot,Philippe Connes,Philippe Connes,Philippe Connes +18 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that HU, through its effects on foetal hemoglobin and possibly on NO delivery, would modulate RBC NO signalling pathway, RBC rheology and oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Doping control analysis of emerging drugs in human plasma – identification of GW501516, S‐107, JTV‐519, and S‐40503
Mario Thevis,Simon Beuck,Andreas Thomas,Birthe Kortner,Maxie Kohler,Grigory Rodchenkov,Wilhelm Schänzer +6 more
TL;DR: Themass spectrometric fragmentation of four emerging drug candidates (GW501516, S-107, JTV-519, and S-40503) was elucidated by positive electrospray ionization and collision-induced dissociation using a high resolution/high accuracy mass spectrometer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of growth hormone releasing peptides metabolites in human urine after nasal administration of GHRP-1, GHRP-2, GHRP-6, Hexarelin, and Ipamorelin.
Ekaterina Semenistaya,Irina Zvereva,Andreas Thomas,Mario Thevis,Grigory Krotov,Grigory Rodchenkov +5 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that the detection window after GHRPs administration depends on individual metabolism, drug preparation form and the way of administration, and this research also confirmed that GHRP-6 was mostly excreted unchanged and detected in urine 23 h after administration, its metabolites were detectable for 12 h only.
