Chest compression depth and survival in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

TL;DR: Deeper chest compressions were associated with improved survival and functional outcome following OHCA, and results suggest that adhering to the 2010 AHA Guideline-recommended depth of at least 51mm could improve outcomes for victims of OHCA.
Journal Article

Abstract 135: The Association of Preshock Pause and Survival from Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest

TL;DR: It is sought to determine if a dedicated intervention to improve prehospital CPR quality and minimize PSPs would result in a shortened preshock interval and improve survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Chest compression quality declines in the minutes preceding scene departure in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

TL;DR: The presences of multiple rescuers, non-elderly bystander and BCPR on bystander’s own initiative are associated with good-quality BCPR, which was initiated earlier after arrest recognition/witness than poor- quality BCPR.
