Journal Article
Antimicrobial activity of
TL;DR: A method using scanning electron microscope to study the morphology of the bacterial and fungal microbes and thus determining antimicrobial activity is presented in the chapter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of antibiotic susceptibility in Lactobacillus isolates from chickens
TL;DR: The findings indicate that intestinal lactobacilli should be considered a reservoir of resistance genes and that antibiotics must be used prudently in poultry production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Lactobacillus strains of goose origin using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and 16S-23S rDNA intergenic spacer PCR analysis.
TL;DR: The results obtained indicate that ITS- PCR and ITS-PCR/RFLP assays could be used not only for interspecific, but also for intraspecific, typing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biofilm formation capacity and presence of virulence factors among commensal Enterococcus spp. from wild birds.
TL;DR: Different phenotypic and genotypic traits in enterococci from wild birds related to potential virulence in humans and animals are analysed to evaluate biofilm formation and its relationship to virulence genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening of Lactobacillus strains of domestic goose origin against bacterial poultry pathogens for use as probiotics
TL;DR: The selected Lactobacillus strains that strongly inhibited the growth of pathogenic bacteria, and were also resistant to low pH and bile salts, can potentially restore the balance of intestinal microflora in geese and could offer an alternative to antibiotic therapy.
