Journal ArticleDOI

Physicochemical and thermodynamic properties of the {1-alkyl-1-methylpiperidinium bromide [C1Cn=2,4PIP][Br], or 1-butylpyridinium bromide, [C4Py][Br], or tri(ethyl)butylammonium bromide [N2,2,2,4] [Br] + water} binary systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of ionic liquids, including organic salts with melting temperature above 100°C, and their aqueous solutions as a novel alternative working pair for the absorption heat pump were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extensive Evaluation of Performance of the COSMO-RSApproach in Capturing Liquid–Liquid Equilibria of Binary Mixturesof Ionic Liquids with Molecular Compounds

TL;DR: A conductor-like screening model for real solvents (COSMO-RS) is presented as a predictive thermodynamic tool for estimating the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) phase diagrams of the binary systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Side Chain Functional Group on Interactions in Ionic Liquid Systems: Insights from Infinite Dilution Thermodynamic Data

TL;DR: Three modeling approaches, namely, linear solvation energy relationship (LSER), regular solution theory, and conductor-like screening model for real solvents (COSMO-RS), are tested for their capabilities of capturing the substitution effects detected experimentally.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase equilibria study of the (N-octylisoquinolinium thiocyanate ionic liquid + aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon, or thiophene) binary systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the phase equilibria diagrams presented in this paper with literature data for the corresponding ionic liquids with N-alkylisoquinolinium and with thiocyanate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activity Coefficients at Infinite Dilution of Organic Solutes and Water in Tributylethylphosphonium Diethylphosphate Using Gas–Liquid Chromatography: Thermodynamic Properties of Mixtures Containing Ionic Liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of experimental activity coefficients at infinite dilution, γ13∞ for 51 various organic solutes such as alkanes, 1-alkenes, 1alkynes, cycloalkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, thiophene, ethers, ketones, acetonitrile, pyridine, and 1-nitropropane, were determined.
