Factors associated with adherence to treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus

TL;DR: It was found that total cholesterol and HbA1c were significantly associated with adherence to diet (p = 0,036) and exercise and the chance of a patient with cholesterol within the recommended level adhering to diet is almost five times the chances of the patient in poor lipid control.

TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that nurses can develop health education activities in schools to encourage the consumption of fruits, vegetables, pulses and fruit juices, especially among those adolescents who are more likely to develop arterial hypertension.
