Journal ArticleDOI
Overcharging and charge reversal in the electrical double layer around the point of zero charge.
TL;DR: First simulation data on OC is presented in the PM electrical double layer, showing that close to the point of zero charge, this novel effect surges as a consequence of the ionic size asymmetry, and the HNC/MSA theory captures well the CR and OC phenomena exhibited by the computer experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic arrest within the self-consistent generalized Langevin equation of colloid dynamics.
Laura Yeomans-Reyna,Marco Antonio Chávez-Rojo,Pedro E. Ramírez-González,Rigoberto Juárez-Maldonado,Martín Chávez-Páez,Magdaleno Medina-Noyola +5 more
TL;DR: A recently developed theory of colloid dynamics is presented as an alternative approach to the description of phenomena of dynamic arrest in monodisperse colloidal systems, and the derivation from the same self-consistent theory of the more straightforward route to the location of the fluid-glass transition boundary is focused on.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamic equivalences in the hard-sphere dynamic universality class.
TL;DR: It is shown that the referred dynamic equivalence does not depend on the (Newtonian or Brownian) nature of the microscopic laws of motion of the constituent particles, and hence, applies independently to colloidal and to atomic simple liquids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of chain stiffness on the morphology of polyelectrolyte complexes. A Monte Carlo simulation study
TL;DR: In this paper, Monte Carlo simulations and a coarse grain model were employed to analyze the final structure and morphology of complexes arising from the interaction between fully-flexible polycations and polyanions with different chain stiffness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ion-exchanged geopolymer for photocatalytic degradation of a volatile organic compound
J.R. Gasca-Tirado,Alejandro Manzano-Ramírez,P.A. Vazquez-Landaverde,E.I. Herrera-Díaz,M.E. Rodríguez-Ugarte,J.C. Rubio-Ávalos,Vicente Amigó-Borrás,Martín Chávez-Páez +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, photolysis of 2-Butanone as a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) was used to control indoor and outdoor air pollution by using geopolymers.
