Journal ArticleDOI
Relapse rates in patients with rheumatoid arthritis in stable remission tapering or stopping antirheumatic therapy: interim results from the prospective randomised controlled RETRO study
Judith Haschka,Matthias Englbrecht,Axel J. Hueber,Bernhard Manger,Arnd Kleyer,Michaela Reiser,Stephanie Finzel,Hans Peter Tony,Stefan Kleinert,Martin Feuchtenberger,Martin Fleck,K. Manger,Wolfgang Ochs,M. Schmitt-Haendle,Joerg Wendler,F. Schuch,Monika Ronneberger,Hanns Martin Lorenz,H. Nuesslein,Rieke Alten,Winfried Demary,Joerg Henes,Georg Schett,Juergen Rech +23 more
TL;DR: This randomised controlled study testing three different treatment strategies in patients with RA in sustained remission demonstrated that more than half of the patients maintain in remission after tapering or stopping conventional and biological DMARD treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of disease relapses by multibiomarker disease activity and autoantibody status in patients with rheumatoid arthritis on tapering DMARD treatment.
Juergen Rech,Axel J. Hueber,Stephanie Finzel,Matthias Englbrecht,Judith Haschka,Bernhard Manger,Arnd Kleyer,Michaela Reiser,Jayme Fogagnolo Cobra,Camille P. Figueiredo,Hans-Peter Tony,Stefan Kleinert,Joerg Wendler,F. Schuch,Monika Ronneberger,Martin Feuchtenberger,Martin Fleck,K. Manger,Wolfgang Ochs,M. Schmitt-Haendle,Hanns-Martin Lorenz,H. Nuesslein,Rieke Alten,Joerg Henes,Klaus Krueger,Georg Schett +25 more
TL;DR: MBDA improved the prediction of relapses in patients with RA in stable remission undergoing DMARD tapering, and if combined with ACPA testing, allowed prediction of relapse in more than 80% of the patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for latent tuberculosis infection: performance of tuberculin skin test and interferon-γ release assays under real-life conditions
Stefan Kleinert,H-P Tony,Klaus Krueger,Detert J,Mielke F,Karin Rockwitz,R. Schwenke,Gerd-Rüdiger Burmester,Diel R,Martin Feuchtenberger,Christian Kneitz +10 more
TL;DR: In patient populations with low rates of TB incidence and BCG vaccination, the use of both TST and IGRA may maximise sensitivity in detecting LTBI but may also reduce specificity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Micronodular thymoma: an epithelial tumour with abnormal chemokine expression setting the stage for lymphoma development
Philipp Ströbel,Mirella Marino,Martin Feuchtenberger,Anne Sophie Rouzière,Hans Peter Tony,Ulrich Wulbrand,Reinhold Förster,Andreas Zettl,Nancy L. Harris,Hans Kreipe,R. Hubert Laeng,Hans Konrad Müller-Hermelink,Alexander Marx +12 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that abnormal chemokine expression in an epithelial tumour, MNT, can promote the recruitment of MALT, the emergence of monoclonal B cells, and, eventually, the subsequent development of mediastinal lymphomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vaccination survey in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: a cross-sectional study.
Martin Feuchtenberger,Stefan Kleinert,Sven Schwab,Petra Roll,E. Scharbatke,Eva Ostermeier,Reinhard E. Voll,Arne Schäfer,Hans-Peter Tony +8 more
TL;DR: There was a discrepancy between vaccination awareness and actual vaccination rates for all cohorts and awareness of infectious complications was more present in patients treated with biologicals, and also, the rate of patients vaccinated against Streptococcus pneumoniae increased significantly depending on the underlying treatment.
