Temperature dependence of the vibrational relaxation time of liquid carbontetrachloride

TL;DR: The vibrational relaxation time of liquid CCl4 was measured as a function of temperature in a Brillouin-scattering experiment as mentioned in this paper, and the nonrelaxing fraction of the bulk viscosity was found to be 1.5 to 2.5 times the shear viscosities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous measurement of sound velocity and sound attenuation in liquids by a correlation method

TL;DR: The correlation between the input and output signals of an ultrasonic ransmitter-receiver system with two quartz transducers was used for simultaneous measurement of sound speed and sound absorption in liquids as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hyperschalleigenschaften von Wasser-Äthanolmischungen

TL;DR: In this article, the relaxation frequency and the noerelaxing fraction of the bulk viscosity were calculated from the experimental data in water-ethanol mixtures using Brillouin scattering.
