Journal ArticleDOI
Sensory abnormalities in autism. A brief report.
Lars Klintwall,Anette Holm,Mats Anders Eriksson,Lotta Höglund Carlsson,Martina Barnevik Olsson,Åsa Hedvall,Christopher Gillberg,Elisabeth Fernell +7 more
TL;DR: The findings provide support for the notion that sensory abnormality is very common in young children with autism and has been proposed for inclusion among the diagnostic criteria for ASD in the upcoming DSM-V.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early intervention in 208 Swedish preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder. A prospective naturalistic study.
Elisabeth Fernell,Åsa Hedvall,Joakim Westerlund,Lotta Höglund Carlsson,Mats Eriksson,Martina Barnevik Olsson,Anette Holm,Fritjof Norrelgen,Liselotte Kjellmer,Liselotte Kjellmer,Christopher Gillberg +10 more
TL;DR: The data do not support that children with ASD generally benefit more from the most intensive ABA intervention programs than from less intensive interventions or targeted interventions based on ABA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Maria Sääf,Elisabeth Fernell,Frida Kristiansson,Martina Barnevik Olsson,Sven Gustafsson,Gunnel Bågenholm +5 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Selective expression of hyaluronan and receptor for hyaluronan mediated motility (Rhamm) in the adult mouse subventricular zone and rostral migratory stream and in ischemic cortex.
Charlotta Lindwall,Martina Barnevik Olsson,Ahmed M. Osman,H. Georg Kuhn,Maurice A. Curtis,Maurice A. Curtis +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that hyaluronan levels are substantially increased at six weeks following a photothrombotic stroke lesion to the adult mouse cortex, and GFAP positive cells in the peri-infarct area express Rhamm, indicating that hyAluronan may be involved in regulating cell migration in the normal SVZ and RMS and could also be responsible for priming the pero-infARct area following an ischemic lesion for cell migration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autism before diagnosis: crying, feeding and sleeping problems in the first two years of life
Martina Barnevik Olsson,Lotta Höglund Carlsson,Lotta Höglund Carlsson,Joakim Westerlund,Christopher Gillberg,Elisabeth Fernell +5 more
