TL;DR: This article examined the role of general cognitive ability, speed and efficiency of cognitive processing, and oral reading fluency in predicting reading comprehension, and found that the significant relationship between oral reading ability and reading comprehension cannot be explained by general cognitive abilities or by processing speed and efficient.
