Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of Oleanolic, Betulinic and Ursolic Acid in Lamiaceae and Mass Spectral Fragmentation of Their Trimethylsilylated Derivatives
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of ultrasonic extraction, solid phase extraction, size exclusion chromatography, trimethylsilylation, and GC-MS resulted in simultaneous separation, identification and quantification of the mentioned compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Innovative Extraction Techniques Using Deep Eutectic Solvents and Analytical Methods for the Isolation and Characterization of Natural Bioactive Compounds from Plant Material
TL;DR: This review provided an up-to-date systematic overview of the use of DES/NADES in combination with innovative extraction techniques for the isolation of bioactive compounds from various plant materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Choline chloride based natural deep eutectic solvents as extraction media for extracting phenolic compounds from chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa)
TL;DR: The extraction recoveries for the individual phenolic compounds depended strongly on the phenolic compound’s structure, with relative mean values between 70% and 97%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sustainable ultrasound-assisted extraction of valuable phenolics from inflorescences of Helichrysum arenarium L. using natural deep eutectic solvents
TL;DR: In this article, an analytical methodology based on natural deep eutectic solvents (NADESs) and ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) is demonstrated as an environmentally friendly protocol for the isolation of valuable phenolic compounds from inflorescences of Helichrysum arenarium L. The developed approach allows easy transfer of the proposed methodology to large-scale extraction, enabling clean production with minimal environmental impact.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative Study of Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Essential Oils and Crude Extracts of Four Characteristic Zingiberaceae Herbs.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated and compared the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of essential oils (EOs) of four characteristic ginger species: Elettaria cardamomum L. Maton (cardamom), Curcuma Longa L. (curcuma), Zingiber Officinale Roscoe (ginger), and Alpinia Officinarum Hance (galangal).
