Decomposition of Two Aluminum Sulfates and Characterization of the Resultant Aluminas

TL;DR: In this paper, two special types of anhydrous aluminum sulfate with extreme grain shapes were prepared; one, obtained by precipitation from concentrated sulfuric acid solution, is rhombohedral near cubic single-crystal grains and the other, from acetic acid, consists of very thin flaky particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synergic extraction and atomic absorption spectrometric determination of vanadium in silicates

TL;DR: In this paper, an atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of vanadium in silicates is proposed, where samples are digested with aqua regia and hydrofluoric acid in sealed Tenon vessels, iron is eliminated by anion exchange from 8 M hydrochloric acid, and vanadium is extracted synergically with β -isopropyltropolone into di-n-butyl ether in the presence of n-butanol from 0.5 M HOG acid.
